Orange Magazine PH was on the ground at the H.I.P. Fest 2026 mall event to cover the launch of Sun Life Grepa Financial, Inc.’s (Sun Life Grepa) newest health insurance program, “H.I.P. (Healthy. Informed. Protected.) for All.”
During the launch, the major life insurance company officially introduced actor, host, and former national athlete Enchong Dee as its newest brand ambassador. The campaign aims to reshape the nation’s mindset around healthcare—encouraging proactive wellness, early detection, and accessible financial security for both individuals and businesses.
Enchong Dee: The Natural Choice for Healthy, Informed, and Protected Living
As Sun Life Grepa’s newest brand ambassador, Enchong Dee embodies the exact core principles of the campaign. Sun Life Grepa President Richard S. Lim noted during their live interview that tapping Dee was an easy decision:
“Enchong was a natural choice because he is a man living an active lifestyle, staying disciplined all throughout, and making intentional choices about his health. He is someone who doesn’t only preach our message—he actually lives it.”
For Dee, taking on the role feels like a natural extension of his own personal beliefs.
“I love the campaign because it mirrors and magnifies what I truly believe in,” Dee shared during the on-stage conversation. “In the Philippines, it’s a continuous struggle… It’s always being said that we are ‘one hospitalization away from poverty.’ What better way to align myself than with a company that doesn’t just focus on enriching your pockets, but also on taking care of your health?”
A Personal Lesson on the Value of Health Protection
Reflecting on why health protection should never be delayed, Dee shared a candid personal story from his time filming the hit series It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. After consuming undercooked food during a family dinner, he developed severe inflammation and had to rush himself to the emergency room late at night.
“I was just there for 3 hours, and my bill was around ₱40,000,” Dee recalled. “Afterwards, my mom asked for the receipts so we could claim it through health insurance. That was the moment I realized how good it feels when you don’t have to drain your current savings because you protected yourself ahead of time. Your worries just disappear. That’s why I need to keep telling people to get health insurance—because we all need it.”
He urged Filipinos to take action while they are in a position to do so:
“When we are in a comfortable era of our lives—when we have work and can go on vacations—that’s the perfect time to protect ourselves. Whether it’s physical, financial, or mental health, we have to protect ourselves early on, before the hard times arrive. You will thank yourself later.”
Bridging the Healthcare Reality in the Philippines
The launch comes at a critical time for Filipino households. June 2026 data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) shows that 41.2% of total healthcare spending in 2025 came from household out-of-pocket payments—often wiping out emergency funds or forcing families into debt.
President Lim emphasized that the true danger facing Filipinos isn’t just illness, but delay:
“We delay checkups, ignore symptoms, and convince ourselves we are still young. But health challenges don’t wait,” Lim explained in his opening address. “Health is no longer just a medical issue—it is a financial issue, a family issue, and one of the biggest concerns facing Filipino households. An insurance company should not measure success only by the claims it pays, but also by the illnesses it helps prevent.”
The Four Commitments of ‘H.I.P. for All’
The “H.I.P. for All” framework centers around four key commitments:
-
Healthy Living: Encouraging daily preventive habits to keep illness at bay.
-
Early Detection: Promoting timely checkups and screenings for better treatment outcomes.
-
Financial Support: Providing robust financial buffers so families can focus purely on recovery.
-
Recovery Care: Supporting patients as they rebuild their routines, return to work, and regain their quality of life.
Concluding his address, Lim reminded the audience of the campaign’s ultimate objective:
“People think health is about living longer; I think it’s about having more moments—more birthdays, family dinners, and celebrations,” Lim said. “The greatest gift we can help Filipinos protect is not just their savings or income, but their chance to have more tomorrows and more meaningful moments with the people they love.”

Great explanation. Clear and easy to follow. I’ve been using YesOrNoAI for something along these lines.
