Emirates’ flagship A380 is reaching new heights with the first installation of next-generation Starlink Wi-Fi now complete.
A pioneer in onboard connectivity, the Emirates A380 was among the first commercial aircraft to offer internet, with early systems providing less than 1 Mbps. Now, with three Starlink antennas installed on each aircraft, connectivity will improve a thousand-fold, delivering a ‘better than at home’ experience at 40,000 feet.
The first Starlink-equipped Emirates A380 returned to Dubai this week following installation and certification in Newquay, UK. With more A380s scheduled for installation throughout 2026, customers across all cabins will soon enjoy complimentary high-speed internet for streaming, gaming, browsing, and working on personal devices.
Designed specifically for the A380’s double-decker layout and high passenger capacity, this industry-first configuration delivers more than 2 Gbps of total aircraft bandwidth across the cabin.
Starlink installations will soon accelerate at Emirates Engineering in Dubai, building on the airline’s broader investment in customer experience. With 25 Boeing 777-300ERs already equipped and more than 650,000 customers having flown on Starlink-enabled flights, Emirates continues to redefine connected travel.
