Epson Expands Reforestation Efforts at La Mesa Eco Park

Epson employees planted a total of 371 seedlings in La Mesa Eco Park.

Epson Philippines Corporation continued its environmental efforts this year with a tree-planting activity recently held at La Mesa Eco Park in Quezon City. This activity supports Epson’s goal of protecting the environment and helping keep Metro Manila’s remaining green spaces healthy. This is important because these green spaces act as the “lungs of the city”, providing better air quality in the densely populated urban areas. Epson’s tree planting effort aligns with Epson’s belief that meaningful action, from its technology to its community programs, should create positive, lasting impact.

Epson employees recently planted 221 native tree seedlings across designated areas in the park. These species were chosen to strengthen biodiversity and help restore parts of the watershed that have been affected by urban development. As the trees mature, they will help stabilize soil, improve air quality and support better water retention in the La Mesa Reservoir, which supplies essential resources to millions of residents.

This activity follows an earlier activity in July that planted 150 seedlings in the same area. Returning within the same year helps support the park’s long-term rehabilitation plan and shows Epson’s belief that environmental care requires consistent effort. The approach also allows volunteers to contribute to ongoing progress rather than isolated, one-time actions.

La Mesa Eco Park remains one of the last remaining forest areas in Metro Manila and continues to play a crucial role in protecting the region’s ecological balance. Epson’s partnership with the park strengthens conservation programs that depend on volunteers and private organizations to help rebuild forest cover and protect the watershed’s resilience.

Masako Kusama, President and Director of Epson Philippines Corporation, joined the tree planting activity of the company.

“Caring the environment is part of who we are as a company,” said Masako Kusama, President and Director of Epson Philippines. “Our employees show this commitment through the work we do every day and through activities like this tree planting. Each seedling at La Mesa Eco Park reflects our shared responsibility to protect the natural resources our communities rely on.”

Through initiatives like this, Epson continues to turn its sustainability commitments into practical action. The company encourages employees to take part in efforts that support a sustainable and more resilient future for local communities.
