After debuting with her massive self-love anthem “Ako Naman Muna” last year, young folk-pop artist Angela Ken makes another bold statement this 2022 through her new single “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay.”

The singer-songwriter, who is currently gracing the cover of Spotify EQUAL Philippines playlist, talks about reassurance in her latest musical offering, which was inspired by the King of Talk Boy Abunda’s trending question in Binibining Pilipinas 2021, “When is it okay not to be okay and when is it not okay to be okay?”

The question circulated and stirred many discussions online, encouraging Boy to produce a beautiful collaboration written by Angela and ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo.

Angela’s first foray into recording, “Ako Naman Muna,” became a No.1 Global Viral Hit on Spotify, now with more than 26 million streams. It also has over 16 million combined views for its music video and lyric video visualizer on YouTube. She also recently sang “If We Fall In Love,” an official soundtrack of the digital series by ABS-CBN and iQiyi production entitled “Saying Goodbye.”

The ABS-CBN Music discovery also leads Filipina artists this month on Spotify EQUAL Philippines playlist, the curated playlist that seeks to foster equity for women in music.

Check out Angela’s newest single “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay,” out now on music streaming services worldwide.
