Armscor Global Defense, Inc. (AGDI), the Philippines’ premier firearms and ammunition manufacturer, made a significant impact at the 19th Defense Services Asia (DSA) Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur. By showcasing world-class tactical products on this global stage, ARMSCOR reaffirmed its status as a powerhouse in the regional defense landscape.
The Global Defense Stage
As one of the world’s most influential tri-defense (land, air, and sea) exhibitions, DSA 2026 hosted over 1,450 companies and 114 countries across a massive 48,000-square-meter venue. ARMSCOR’s participation placed Philippine-made technology alongside the most advanced security systems in the world.
Product Spotlight: The RIA Defense Line
The centerpiece of the ARMSCOR exhibit was the Rock Island Armory (RIA) Defense line. Key highlights included:
-
RD4P Cobra Rifle: A modern 5.56 assault system built for the rigorous standards of military and law enforcement.
-
Signature 1911 Firearms: The company’s best-selling pistols, renowned for precision and reliability.
-
Premium Ammunition: Showcasing the high-quality manufacturing standards of the Philippines.
Strategic Partnerships and Self-Reliance
AGDI Senior VP Maria Cristina Tuason-Gonzalez emphasized that DSA is a vital platform for technology exchange and strengthening the Philippines’ Self-Reliant Defense Posture (SRDP).
“Participating in such an environment reinforces our credibility… it allows us to have substantive discussions with potential partners and clients,” Tuason-Gonzalez affirmed.
Looking Ahead
Following recent contract successes with the Philippine Coast Guard, ARMSCOR is leveraging its DSA momentum to expand its export footprint across Southeast Asia. By proving that locally made rifles like the RD4P Cobra can compete globally, ARMSCOR is actively reducing national dependence on foreign imports while driving local industrial growth.
