The Department of Science and Technology-Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) excelled in the latest ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance Audit conducted by the SOCOTEC Certification Philippines Inc.
The audit examined DOST-FPRDI’s compliance with the established Quality Management Systems (QMS) and other relevant international standards.
“We congratulate DOST-FPRDI for its re-certification as an ISO-accredited organization,” said DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum, Jr. “This achievement speaks volumes about the agency’s unwavering commitment to quality to better serve its clients,” he added.
“At DOST-FPRDI, we are dedicated to continuously improving our processes and service delivery. This positive outcome affirms DOST-FPRDI’s commitment to maintain high standards not only in research, but also in our operations,” explained Institute Director Rico J. Cabangon.
Audit results showed that the Institute’s QMS had zero nonconformities and successfully met the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.
ISO 9001 is an international standard system that organizations use to show their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. The goal is to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective use and improvement of the system.
The audit was held on 26 May 2026 and was participated in by the Institute management and select staff.
DOST-FPRDI is the research and development arm of the DOST and is part of the Philippine government’s efforts to build a strong science and technology ecosystem in the country. It remains at the forefront of scientific research on wood and non-wood use and conservation, pioneering initiatives that promote the responsible use of forest resources while safeguarding biodiversity.
