Infamous DJ & producer Maceo Plex aka Eric Estornel goes on with the second chapter of the Mutant Series. This new set of EPs is characterised by a “techno mutation” kind of sound, that will come out via his friend’s labels and his own during this year. ‘Mutant 2’ will kick off Ellum Black, a new branch of his initial imprint Ellum that focuses on the darker and more intellectual sound of techno.
The American artist offers two new cuts with this new release, the first one ‘Mutant Pulse’ is a collaboration with Dallas duo Paradigm Shift that brings a melancholic vibe through deep pads and vocals that are mixed with laid back broken beats and synth sparks. On the flip-side, ‘Mutant Radio’ appears like the straightforward take of the EP building up synth chords and melodies for a trippy pick.
