adidas has brought together some of football’s biggest stars past and present for a football match like no other. The ‘House Match’ video features footballing icons David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane with Gareth Bale and Lucas Moura and is part of the adidas “all in or nothing” 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ campaign.

‘House Match’ sees the four footballers together in an unexpected setting -relaxing at home in front of a football video game, before the players get the urge to show off their skills for real. What follows is a rollercoaster ride as the Beckham, Zidane, Bale and Moura display just what can be done with a football, even in the tightest of spaces.

The video was directed by renowned director Fernando Meirelles, best known as director of “City of God” and co-directed by Cassiano Prado. Meirelles and Prado also directed the adidas World Cup ad, “Leo Messi’s World Cup Dream”, launched last month.

Tom Ramsden, Global Brand Marketing Director, adidas football, said: “Not everyone gets to play at this World Cup, but the game never stops. With adidas as the global leader in football we always strive to showcase the best talent in the right way and working with Fernando (Meirelles) and Cassiano (Prado) we have brought to life ‘The House Match’, which we are very excited about”

Director Fernando Meirelles said, “Football stars are so used to being filmed that they’ve almost become actors. I was amazed to see how collaborative they were. Now that Beckham is retired from playing football, he could easily move his career straight to acting if he wanted and I mean that. That day’s shoot was pure fun.”

“The House Match” debuts last June 7, 2014.  For more information on the adidas 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ campaign visit www.adidas.com/worldcup or join the conversation on Twitter @adidasfootball #allin or nothing.
