Tropical Storm Washi (locally known as “Typhoon Sendong”) which hit Northern Mindanao over the weekend, caused massive flooding, flashfloods and landslides, resulting in the death of over 1,000 people.
Some 285,000 people have been displaced, many of whom are taking refuge with relatives or in makeshift structures.
