A Profile Of Smartphone Users In The Philippines

According to Opera Software’s latest State of the Mobile Web Report, the Philippines is now recognized as the most social nation whereas before, it was only the text-messaging capital of the world.

This particular upgradeis due to the easier and faster internet access in the country that made the Filipinos more attached to their devices as ever, despite the citizens itself disagreeing to the internet speed.

Conversely, the total number of active Filipino social media users as of March 2015 is 42M, and 36M of them access social media through mobile. From January 2014, these figures have experienced a 24% and 50% growth respectively.

While for the apps, the five most downloaded apps by Filipinos are Facebook Messenger, Facebook, Dubsmash, YouTube, and Viber.
