Award-winning actor Paulo Avelino and his close-knit group of friends have officially stepped into the business world together, launching an immersive, cosmic-themed indoor playground named PlaySpace.
Covered during its highly anticipated soft opening today, July 18, 2026, by Orange Magazine PH, the premium indoor playground is located inside the newly bustling Ayala Malls Vermosa in Imus, Cavite. The launch marks a milestone for the long-time friends and casual gamers who spent two years bringing the interstellar concept to life.
Step Inside a Futuristic Galactic Playhouse
As captured in the event coverage, PlaySpace swaps out the traditional, cramped playground aesthetic for a sprawling, immersive cosmic odyssey. Drawing deep inspiration from the founders’ backgrounds as passionate PC gamers, the entire indoor playground features ambient glow effects that double as a tribute to modern gaming culture.
The playhouse boasts several distinct attractions designed to stimulate children’s physical development and social skills:
- The Giant Interactive Ball Pit: A massive purple-and-pink ball sea featuring a pneumatic “ball cannon” that uses heavy airflow to launch balls. It connects directly to a giant interactive projection wall where kids can physically throw balls at digital targets to play live mini-games.
- The Capsule Slides & Mega Maze: Towering, multi-level climbing cages layered with protective foam padding that feed into enclosed, twisting tube slides and wide racing ramps.
- The Mini-Town Roll-Play Zones: Designed for imaginative play, this section features “Hello Happy Castle” (a miniature sensory playhouse), a fully stocked “Super Market” complete with tiny grocery carts and plush produce, and an interactive train-track table playground.
- Lunar Sand Pit & Sensory Zone: A dedicated space where toddlers can dig and build using pastel sensory beads inside a giant yellow lunar-lander dome.
- The Premium Celebration Hall: A grand, custom-designed private function room with floor-to-ceiling multi-colored neon light panels, geometric wall art, and elegant banquet tables designed to host premium birthday parties.
In Their Own Words: Meet the Minds Behind PlaySpace
During the press launch covered by Orange Magazine PH, the core team sat down to reveal the deep-seated personal motivation that built the galactic playground.
Adam Vinluan (CEO and President)
For Adam, the spark that created PlaySpace was intensely personal, born from navigating life with his four-year-old son:
”Two years ago, my son was diagnosed with Global Development Delay (GDD). That potentially means he could also have autism. Being a dad, you worry so much. We saw that he needed to go to places like playgrounds to be exposed to other kids, interact, and help his development. But every time we went, it was always so crowded and hard to book therapy.Aside from helping my child have a place to play, I loved the idea of helping other kids enjoy it too. We are four dads here who are also casual gamers—we used to just chill on Discord at night playing games when I brought it up. If you look around, the RGB lights are a tribute to us being PC gamers!”
Paulo Avelino (Marketing)
Paulo recalled how a late-night gaming session quickly evolved into a massive, year-long nighttime construction project:
”It’s a funny story. It’s actually the brainchild of Adam, but two years ago we were just talking on Discord while playing games. He brought it up out of nowhere, and I said yes! We started working on it.Because the mall was already operational and there is a movie theater right next door, we were only allowed to do heavy construction work during the nighttime. It took us a year of actual building, but two years in total planning. Metro Manila can be so cramped; I grew up in Baguio where we had the luxury of running around, climbing trees, and falling off cliffs. It’s nice to have a safe space for kids where they can truly be themselves, run around, not be on their phones, and just enjoy with other kids.”
John Gonzales (Business Development) & Bugsy Lising (Operations)
The team also highlighted their strict adherence to safety, highlighting that they have trained their staff specifically to manage behaviors gently and stand firmly against playground bullying. Joining Paulo, Adam, John, and Bugsy during the official ribbon-cutting ceremony were fellow co-partners Aldrin Lao, Randy Aguirre, and Raymond Mendoza.
