To celebrate the enduring legacy of one of the most vibrant eras in British pop, Universal Music and Virgin Records are proud to announce the first-ever vinyl reissue of Melanie B’s debut solo album, HOT. This strictly limited edition release is set to be a crown jewel of Record Store Day (RSD) 2026.

Melanie B’s solo debut album “Hot” released on October 2000.

Originally released in October 2000, HOT marked a bold departure for Melanie B (aka Scary Spice), as she stepped away from the Spice Girls’ signature pop sound to embrace a gritty, urban fusion of R&B and Hip-Hop. The album was a showcase of her versatility, featuring collaborations with industry heavyweights such as Missy Elliott, Jimmy Jam, and Terry Lewis.

A Masterclass in R&B-Pop Fusion

The 2026 RSD release reminds fans why HOT remains a cult favorite among R&B aficionados. The tracklist is headlined by the massive No. 1 hit “I Want You Back” featuring Missy Elliott, a track that shattered records and defined the sound of the late 90s.

The reissue also includes the album’s powerhouse singles:

  • “Tell Me” – A defiant, soul-searching anthem.

  • “Feels So Good” – The quintessential feel-good groove.

  • “Lullaby” – A tender tribute to motherhood that showed a softer side of the “Scary” persona.

The 2026 Record Design: A Visual Tribute

In a nod to Melanie B’s most iconic visual trademark, the RSD 2026 edition features a stunning Limited Edition Leopard Print Picture Disc. This high-fidelity vinyl is not just a playback medium but a collector’s centerpiece, encased in a vibrant pink obi-strip and featuring high-contrast neon branding.

The design captures the fierce, “Girl Power” energy that Melanie B has championed for three decades. The picture disc is pressed on heavyweight vinyl to ensure that the deep basslines and crisp production of the original recordings are preserved with premium clarity.

Celebrating 25+ Years of “Scary” Solo Success

“It’s incredible to see HOT finally getting the vinyl treatment it deserves,” says a representative for Virgin Records. “Melanie B wasn’t just a pop star; she was a pioneer for the R&B sound in the UK. This Leopard Print disc is the perfect way to honor her legacy for Record Store Day.”

Product Details:

  • Format: Limited Edition 12″ Leopard Print Picture Disc

  • Release Date: Record Store Day 2026

  • Features: Original 2000 tracklist, 10-bit color neon packaging, and authentic RSD branding.
