After the success of cult hit “Barbarian,” writer-director Zach Cregger set out to do something even more frightening. “I wanted to make something that felt a lot more ambitious,” says Cregger in a new featurette about his latest horror/thriller, “Weapons.”

So Cregger set out to “write something that was just going to be an escalation from everything I did in ‘Barbarian,” he continues. “‘Weapons’ is scarier than ‘Barbarian,’ but it’s also a much more fascinating story.” Aside from writing the story, Cregger also directed, produced and co-composed music for the film.

Take a look behind the scenes of “Weapons,” and hear more about what Cregger and his cast, including Josh Brolin, Julia Garner and Benedict Wong, have to say about the movie, in this new featurette.

When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance. “Weapons” stars Brolin, Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, with Wong, and Amy Madigan.

Watch the mystery unfold when “Weapons” opens in cinemas August 6. Join the conversation and use #WeaponsMovie and visit MaybrookMissing.com for more information.
