Makati Just Got Greener: Meet the New Dela Rosa Gardens

Makati may be the country’s financial and business capital, but it’s also fast becoming a model for sustainable urban living. The latest proof? The Dela Rosa Gardens—a new green space nestled in the heart of the Makati Central Business District that’s redefining what it means to live, work, and play in the city.

Spanning 2,600 sqm, Dela Rosa Gardens is designed to enhance walkability, connectivity, and community life. It is strategically located near key landmarks like Ayala Triangle Gardens, Legazpi Active Park, and Washington SyCip Park, forming part of Makati CBD’s “Emerald Network”—a visionary plan to link Makati’s parks and public spaces through pedestrian-friendly pathways and green corridors. The goal? To create a healthier, more livable city where nature and urban life coexist.

But this isn’t just about aesthetics. The Dela Rosa Gardens reflects Ayala Land’s long-standing commitment to sustainability. From energy-efficient buildings and water conservation systems to waste management and native plant prioritization, Ayala Land integrates eco-conscious practices into every layer of development. The park itself is designed to support passive cooling, reduce urban heat, and encourage low-impact mobility through elevated walkways. It is a space that invites people to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect—with nature and with each other.

What continues to make Makati’s CBD more livable is its evolving approach to mobility. While traffic remains a challenge—especially during rush hour—Ayala Land consistently innovates with solutions that prioritize walkability and connectivity. Elevated walkways, underpasses, and pedestrian crossings offer safe, shaded routes that link parks, offices, malls, and transit hubs, making every day commutes and errands more manageable. These features not only enhance convenience but also support a shift toward a more sustainable, walkable lifestyle. A new Ayala Land Premier residential project is also set to rise in the area, just steps away from the park— further reinforcing the district’s vision of integrated, accessible urban living.

Set for completion by Q4 2028, the Dela Rosa Gardens is surrounded by cultural, educational, and commercial institutions, making it a natural hub for both everyday routines and weekend escapes. One standout feature of the park is that it’s right next to the BPI Civic Plaza and just a short walk from BPI Tower and other key offices in the CBD. It also connects directly to the elevated walkways, making it accessible and seamlessly integrated into Makati’s urban core. These walkways link straight to MRT, Greenbelt and Glorietta malls, adding even more convenience and walkability to the area. Plus, with top hotels, schools, and a hospital just around the corner, the park serves as a central, well-connected green space in the CBD.

The Dela Rosa Gardens joins a growing list of green spaces revitalized by Ayala Land. These areas have become vibrant venues for community events like Art Fair, Art in the Park, weekend markets, and Car-Free Sundays—proof that sustainability can be both functional and fun.

In a city that never sleeps, the emergence of thoughtfully designed parks like Dela Rosa Gardens is a breath of fresh air. It’s a reminder that progress does not have to come at the cost of nature—and that with the right vision, even the busiest business district can bloom.
