Are you a Filipino journalist who wants to take your newsroom to a whole new level with AI? Google is here to help – it’s thrilled to announce its News AI Lab, a holistic program designed to empower newsrooms and individuals across the Philippines with the transformative power of AI.

Open to any individual but tailor-made for news publishers, channels, pages, and creators registered in the Philippines, this initiative aims to reshape how content is produced, distributed, and monetized in the rapidly evolving media landscape. The News AI Lab program is especially beneficial for digital-first newsrooms and emerging news creators looking to integrate cutting-edge AI technology.

The comprehensive 18-month, three-phase program kicks off on July 11, 2025, and runs until January 11, 2027, offering a holistic approach to AI adoption in news. Participants can expect the following:

  • Phase 1: Priming (6 weeks): Self-paced online training to build foundational knowledge.
  • Phase 2: Learning (3 days): An intensive workshop featuring hands-on experience with Google’s AI products, AI readiness assessments, and design thinking exercises to develop custom AI solutions.
  • Phase 3: Implementing (15 Months): Participants will identify and integrate AI into their workflows, building and deploying working prototypes with ongoing support from Google.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be at the forefront of AI innovation in journalism! Registration for this groundbreaking program closes promptly at 6:00 PM (GMT+8) on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Apply now and revolutionize your newsroom journey by heading to the official News AI Lab signup page.
